ESSCA’s Student Union

ESSCA’s Student Union monitors and finances all active clubs and societies on campus. The Student Union represents the following societies:

  • The Bachelor Student Office (BDE)
  • The Grande École programme Students’ Office (BDE)
  • The Student Sports Council or, BDS with various Sports Clubs and Teams
  • The Student Arts Council, or BDA with various Arts Clubs
  • The Social and Environmental Society (ASE) with Social and Environmental Clubs
What I'm most proud of is the dynamic we've been able to create and maintain. On a personal level, my involvement in clubs and societies has enabled me to apply the theory I've learned in class and to meet lots of new people.

The Student Office (BDE)

The Student Office, or BDE, is an association that energises campus life. Its mission is to invigorate the campuses, generate unity among students, and organise enjoyable activities. The BDE also serves as a representative for students in interactions with academic authorities, management, local elected representatives, and various partners.

We’ve managed to generate a welcoming atmosphere that has strengthened connections among students, as well as with the teaching staff. The community life on the Strasbourg campus truly merits the full commitment of students to create a campus where an increasing number of students feel at home.

Student Sports Council (BDS)

The Student Sports Council, or BDS, is dedicated to fostering a vibrant sports culture at ESSCA. It organises one-off sports events and promotes access to various sports activities, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to participate and stay active.

During university competitions, the BDS plays a crucial role in enabling and coordinating student participation.

Sports Activities and University Competitions

Sport plays a pivotal role at ESSCA, serving as a catalyst for integration, creating social ties, and promoting well-being.

ESSCA takes pride in participating in major national and international sports competitions. These include the GEM Altigliss Challenge, the Edhec Cruise Race, the World InterUniversities Championships, and the Essec 24-hour Karting Race.

In collaboration with our vibrant student community, ESSCA also organises tournaments that unite students from all its campuses. These events revolve around a variety of stimulating activities, creating an environment where students can engage, compete, and grow together.

At ESSCA, we believe in the power of sport to bring people together and create a dynamic, inclusive community.

Inter Campus Battles

The Inter Campus Battles are a thrilling three-day event where 350 athletes from ESSCA’s six French campuses come together to represent their campus. They compete in a variety of tournaments, including basketball, volleyball, pétanque, dance, football, run archery, badminton, and touch rugby.

These battles are more than just competitions. They are a celebration of conviviality, cohesion, and solidarity. These key values are at the heart of these events, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among the students.

Student Arts Council

On ESSCA’s campuses, the Student Arts Council, or BDA, provides artistic and cultural activities that offer a unique perspective on the world, inspiring you to take meaningful action.

These activities are designed to nurture your curiosity, creativity, and sense of community – all of which are valuable qualities in your future professional life.

For me, it’s an open door to innovation and creativity, connecting people to their primary senses and to themselves. As a business and economics student, it’s crucial to reconnect with oneself and others to progress together.

Student Professional Societies

ESSCA’s Student Professional Societies are a vital part of our community. They offer a range of services to companies, including consulting, auditing, and studies, leveraging the knowledge and expertise cultivated at ESSCA.

Primarily focused on consulting activities, these societies utilise the skills of our students to benefit companies seeking fresh perspectives on their operations. This not only provides valuable experience for our students but also contributes to the broader business community.

Gala Mercuriale 2022

Mercure Student Society

For over 70 years, the Mercuriale Gala, known as the largest seated student gala in France, has been a unique tradition at ESSCA. It marks the transition of the School’s graduates into their professional lives, creating a memorable milestone.

Each year, the theme of the “Mercuriales” is thoughtfully selected to create lasting memories for over 2,500 students, taking them on a magical and timeless journey.

The team responsible for organising the gala works tirelessly each year to create a completely new event. This offers a unique learning experience, fostering creativity, teamwork, and event management skills.
