ESSCA has approximately 200 PhD qualified faculty members.

This team of experts, representing over 40 different nationalities, has authored several hundred scientific articles, presented at more than 600 conferences, and published over 80 books in the past 5 years. The School has made responsible leadership its primary area of research focus which is common to all ESSCA faculty members.

This commitment is demonstrated in a number of ways:

  • 55% of the School’s high-level research articles published on the theme of CSR in 2024
  • High-impact research, generated through around twenty white papers
  • An organisation of research institutes as platforms for discussion between key players on crucial topics such as ethical fashion, artificial intelligence and sustainability, and sustainable transport
  • ESSCA’s dedication to making its professors’ research findings widely accessible and to promoting their contributions through the ESSCA Knowledge platform

Putting sustainability into practice

ESSCA demonstrates its commitment to environmental responsibility through various day-to-day initiatives:

  • Adoption of a Responsible Purchasing Charter
  • Implementation of waste sorting and recycling practices
  • Compliance with rigorous environmental standards for campuses and construction projects

Societal impact of ESSCA’s campuses

ESSCA contributes positively to the communities where it operates.The 2023 report by the BSIS experts assesses the €558-million-euro economic impact that ESSCA has had on matters of public interest in all the regions covered by its campuses.

For instance, from their first year, Master in Management students engage with local and solidarity-focused associations through initiatives such as the Splash Project.

ESSCA encourages corporate involvement in sustainable development and CSR activities, inviting partners to participate in programme steering committees and sponsoring initiatives.

Labels and certificates demonstrating ESSCA’s positive impact

ESSCA’s positive impact on its ecosystem is recognised through various labels and
certifications:

  • The DDRS label signifies the maturity of sustainable development and social responsibility practices within the School, awarded for a maximum period of 4 years
  • The BSIS (Business School Impact System) label assesses a business school’s academic, scientific, economic, societal and environmental impact on its environment. In 2023, ESSCA renewed for 5 years the BSIS label.
  • The PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education) initiative promotes responsible management education, research, and practices
  • The “Welcome to France” label guarantees of the quality of the welcome provided to international students
  • Inclusion in the Financial Times (FT) ranking of the world’s best management schools further underscores the excellent work achieved by ESSCA
